Description:
Continuation of no precipitation and above normal temperatures continue to sap remaining moisture from the soil and vegetation.  Additional two wildland fire starts in the region this week with another three large fires still burning: two of which are less than 10% contained.  These fires are contributing to unhealthy air quality in the area.  Fire danger remains at Extreme conditions.  The small streams in the area have extremely low flows for this time of the year and the pond water levels are nearing empty.  Irrigation of crop land continues with the second cutting and baling of hay crops completed.  Grasshopper populations are large with leaf defoliation and fruit loss damage apparent.  Another extreme heat warning has been issued and temperatures of over 100F starts today.  A few wildlife sightings this week.
