Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: NM-SR-46
Station Name: Hillsboro 0.3 WSW
Report Date: 7/23/2017
Submitted: 7/23/2017 7:07 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
Although it's rained more heavily elsewhere in SW New Mexico, we've had only .66" of rain during the past week and a total of .70" for the past two weeks. Conditions haven't changed greatly since my last report. Grass and other vegetation by the roadsides is quite green, as are shrubs on the hills and plains. There has been more rain higher in our watershed, but it hasn't been reflected yet in the flow of the creek through town. It continues to flow, but at a fairly low volume. During the past week, I noticed some water ponding by roadsides a day or two after the last rain, so stock ponds are likely to have been recharged somewhat. Soil moisture has increased due to the rains and the frequent cloud cover slowing evaporation. I'm needing to water garden plants less often than in recent weeks.
