A dry week with just 0.04" of rain recorded Sunday evening; the ground is showing it's lack of moisture and there's a lot of dust from the back roads. We saw warm temps early in the week but across the weekend clouds and haze from wild-land fires moved in and our highs dropped from the middle eighties to the lower seventies. The mosquitoes are beginning to decrease in number but are still nasty. I've seen a few moose but no spring calves; the wild birds continue to be active at my window feeder (largely Chickadees and White Breasted Nuthatches). We really need some steady soaking rain as the fire danger has increased quite a bit in the last couple of weeks.
