Red sand roads in Manchester State Forest are damp with some puddles. Resurrection ferns in Poinsett State Park are unfurled and green. Forest floor damp under the leaf litter and pine needles. Of course with the previous week’s generous rain (3.61” rain) the mosquitos are definitely out in force, making outside activities pretty unpleasant; unless using bug spray or a Thermacell. Even with plants in full growth the birds and squirrels are still very busy at the feeders. Wateree River running full. Based on above info, calling it Near Normal for this past week.
