Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: IA-LN-49
Station Name: Cedar Rapids 2.1 NW
Report Date: 2/23/2025
Submitted: 2/23/2025 1:43 PM
Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
Zero precip received this week. Today is day 8 of zeros. No change to drought monitor, still a D1. This was a cold week. Read my station comments for more details. Extreme Cold Warning and Advisories issued. Lowest temperature documented for my location -6F Windchill of -25F. School delays. Steady snowpack melt, however it refreezes and thaws out again everyday. So it is still slow to melt snowpack. Based on the weather forecast, temperatures are going to finally be above freezing, so most of it should be gone this week. Some deer seen, heard birds but did not see any flying around. Awareness of the Cold Conditions this week were well known to the general public. Everyone I witnessed was prepared and aware. Many happy that it is finally above freezing with no windchill values. :):)
