General: We've had about 1-3/4" of rain in May, which is pretty normal, and we have showers forecast for every day this week. It's quite cool still.
Agriculture: Neighbor farmers have been planting, and the rain is welcome for germination. They are able to plant between showers, which is good.
Fire: Not an issue right now, though we had significant smoke last week from the Saskatchewan fires. We will have to deal with the extra fuel later in summer.
Plants/wildlife: Have been seeing deer tracks and deer. This week we saw a doe and fawn, but the fawn must have been from last year (too large to be this year, and it still had winter coat). Our thought is that both doe and fawn were malnourished over winter, which resulted in stunted appearance of the fawn. Hopefully it can make up for lost nutrition.
Water: still lots of water running and flooding downstream. We have not had flooding here, though we have ponds from runoff that we haven't seen in perhaps 20 years. Our pond has water, which is amazing. It's been dry for many, many years.
