with only 0.18" rain recorded this month and above 90 temps things are looking more normal at the ranch.  levels of stock ponds are slowly dropping.  vegetation is still green but growth has slowed.  Anacau and kidney wood trees are in full bloom, and wildflowers are thick across the ranch which is not normal here for Sept.  mowed pastures this week and found no damp, soft spots.  cattle have plenty of grass to eat.  many of the grasses have seeded out and a good crop of bugs in the pastureso so lots of food for birds and wildlife.  hummingbirds are still migrating thru and can still find flowers to feed on
