Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: NC-MS-5
Station Name: Marshall 13.6 NNW
Report Date: 7/23/2017
Submitted: 7/23/2017 8:50 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
The only rain of the week was .08" this morning. Despite the dryness the conditions seem normal. Under the smallest amount of shade the soil is moist. In the full sun of the garden, the soil is moist a couple inches down as I learned when I finished digging the garlics. Beans and tomatoes are ripening. I've only watered where I've planted seeds for fall. Box turtles are on the move--rescued one from the road. Fawns are at their mothers' heels. Butterflies are feeding at our flower garden, especially pipevine swallowtails, angle wings, and skippers. The hummingbirds are draining the feeder quickly with this year's young bringing their appetite. The microhydro is running on the small jet. The French Broad River's flow has dropped below normal. Our drinking spring remains excellent quality and quantity.
